Modify View Information in Show References Window

Hello...I found this port from several years ago...

...but it doesn't answer my question. 

I was wondering if you can modify/switch the information displayed in the Show References window for a particular project?  Currently the data in the Show References windows matches the active View I have in Explorer.  I was hoping that if I switched the View to something that did have the info I wanted, the Show References window would in turn do the same, but that is not the case.

Regardless, I am finding things like additional info like folder path would be handy to list here (even though it's redundant in an actual View), as it would be really handy to have from a parent-child relationship standpoint.

Not able to create a folder in Projectwise. Getting error 13 while creating a folder.

Also when we look through the application it is showing user available space as 0 and we are not able to create any new folder through application. Please find the below screenshot for reference.

Nothing else really to say, i'm just posting this here so the next time I spend an hour looking for the stupid plug-ins I'll have a nice reminder to not download the WSG from the Fulfillment center and to go straight to the Design Integration Server installs instead.

Hope the latest one works with my old servers.

Bentley - Can you remove the downloads from Fulfillment? Or at least maybe put a note where the plug-ins are at? It just says "available separately!"

Powershell Rename Folder

What is the best way to rename a folder in Powershell script?

I define the variables below through browse and select path and define the Renamed Path variable. I am able to copy the folder (essentially create it) then when it comes to the rename part it does nothing. I tried with the -path and New Name designations but nothing. I read somewhere that the folder cannot be empty if it is to be renamed. I am trying to create a project and add required subfolders based on discipline. Everything is working as intended except the rename process. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rename-Item$CurrentProjectFPIDPath$RenamedFPIDFolderPath

I am also a bit stuck with Removing variable or Clearing variables. Thought the below would work.

# Cleanup variables

Remove-Variable TargetFolderStorageArea, TargetFolderStorageAreaName

I also read that Get-Variable would list all of the defined variables. Is this not correct?

Using TAB key to move through the attributes is not working on higher resolution

We are trying to modify a document and scroll bar does not appear to move from one to another attribute on higher resolution.

Below link solution suggested to use tab key to move through attributes but it stops moving once we hit a dropdown attribute. E.g. in above screenshot requested by is dropdown field and we cannot move to next attribute using tab key.

Since getting office 365 cannot open excel files within projectwise

Since getting Office 365, users are facing issues while opening excel files in the below scenarios.

  • Users cannot open two or more Excel documents at the same time from within ProjectWise.
  • If a user has an Excel document open from outside ProjectWise and then attempts to open a ProjectWise Excel document it will not open. 

Note, that users can open multiple Excel documents at the same time from outside ProjectWise without any issues.

Can someone help us ASAP in solving the above issue

BS1192 Doc Code

Hi

I've picked up the admin role on a BS1192 template based project.

I've noticed users are in the habit of going into Attributes > Document Code and changing the values that are generated by pick lists. 

Is there an method to stop this please? I've never seen it before but perhaps users on other projects hadn't realised they could.

I migrated AECOsim V8i Managed WorkSpace (CSBs + files) from a V8i datasource to a Connect Edition one via Export\Import from\into AAM file Wizard, version details as follows

when launching an AECOsim doc in CE datasource, it fails with 'last error [-1], cannot start application for the specified document, check your program associations'

does anybody experience this before? any help is appreciated

ProjectWise V8i: v08.11.11.605 (MWS source)

ProjectWise CE: v10.00.03.140 (MWS target)

AECOsim V8i: v08.11.09.866 (SS6)

Cache server logoin errors with 3rd party intergration server

Hi

I have cache servers that have been running for a long period with no problems that have started giving login erros with some externaly held datasources.

Error 55501 cannot log into the datasource

The datasource is visisble, the cfg file list the server, it is not congirued to list datasources.

I can pwping the address provided by the 3rd parties and get the information on the server I'd expect.

I'm suspecting a routing issue, any suggestion on what steps might be needed to confirm oir address this would be appreciatred

Send broadcast message from server to all ProjectWise logged in users

Hello,

Is there a way on server level to send a message to all ProjectWise logged-in users ? e.g."server down in 15 minutes - save your work please" ?

I know it is possible for windows server connected users but is it possible on application level ?

I also know ProjectWise has amessaging system but that can not filter the logged-in users.

Does deleting DMS folders on server storage by leaving the folder structure in Projectwise explorer as it is causes any issue?

We are planning to delete/cleanup DMS folders on server storage and planning to leave the folder structure in PW explorer as it is. 

Does this cause any issues. Please suggest.

Error 58155 - Unexpected search data inconsistency

Hi everyone!

Please, could someone help me with these errors:

                1-) Searches doesn’t working: when we tries to do a file search on this datasource the ProjectWise returns error code 58155 – Unexpected search data inconsistency. We tried to run the file indexing , but even after that this error persists.

                 2-) File Sets appears empties even when there are files attached to them: for this one I think its easier to explain to you with a ScreenCast. I recorded my screen to show to you what happens when we create a File Set and run a refresh or when we close|re-open it. The files remain attached to the Set but they don’t appear on the Set Window. You can see it below:

How to run document workflow command with PW Web Services Gateway ?

Hello,

I am trying to use the WSG to execute document workflow commands (like Previous state, Next state or something customizable in the workflow definition)

I managed to retrieve possible commands for a specific document using the DocumentCommand relation.

Now the question is, how to run a command ?

I noticed another relation, DocumentCommandRun, which links a Document instance to a CommandRun instance.

The CommandRun class has the following properties:

 CommandId
 Comment
 Messages
 ObjectId
 Status
 StatusMessage

I thought ObjectId would be the Guid of a Document and CommandId the id of the associated Command.

But when I tried to create a CommandRun, I keep getting the error, no metter what I put in the properties :

"Parent instance id must be specified for specified creation."

I am clueness. Could anyone tell me how to run a document command ?

Document name attribute

Hi,

I'm working with MS Office integration between Projectwise and MS Word and need to get the Document Name from Projectwise into my MS Word template. The Exchange between the Attributes from the Environment works flawlessly, but I can't get access to the document name.

In the dialog where I find the System variables, I have $VAULT.FULLNAME$ and $DOCUMENT.FULLNAME$. Both Variables contains the same value - The document name with the full path included. What I need is the short document name.

How can get that ?

Projectwise Integration stops working with Microstation CE intermittently?

Hi all,

Has anyone else seen an issue with Microstation CE-platform products (like OpenRoads Designer) not bringing up the Projectwise check-in dialog intermittently when switching between DGNs and shutting down on occasion?

When this happens it locks the files while the session is still running, so it gets a bit messy and we're not getting any of these issues in any of our other Projectwise Integraton, like Microsoft Office apps, AutoCAD, MX, Microstation SS4, etc.

This seems to exhibit randomly on different machines using the same PW datasource. We've reinstalled everything with no luck.

[PW Ss4] User's Built in Shortcuts for PWDIR converting to UNC paths.

We have one user whose ProjectWise fails to open any MicroStation file. We have traced the issue down to the automatic startup switch that tries to assign the path to PWDIR.

On every other users PC, the path displays and is used as a C:/PROGRA~2/Bentley/PROJEC~1/ format.

But on this one PC, any user logged in, gets a UNC style assignment.

On my PC, the command line switch is "-wsPWDIR=C:/PROGRA~2/Bentley/PROJEC~1/"

But on this one rogue PC, the same shortcuts in PW show up as "-wsPWDIR=//mdotpcname101/c$/PROGRA~2/Bentley/PROJEC~1/"

But this during processing, results in the following assignment:  PWDIR =/mdotpcname101/c$/PROGRA~2/Bentley/PROJEC~1/

The starting double forward slash gets converted to a single forward slash.

So later in the process, when it tries to use this path to locate additional cfg files, the if exist searches fail.

Does anyone know what would cause PW to work one way on 99.9% of our PC's and then, on this one PC, convert a local path to a UNC path?

We've looked, and every shortcut we have in PW on this PC converts the local path to UNC. While on every other PC we have setup, the local path survives as defined.

Managing ProjectWise data with Excel

Is there a way to bulk-editing multiple file properties (I.e created by, drawing/ model description, etc.) by exporting to and re-importing from excel?
